Dei conti SANT FOURNIER

The Noble Sean Sant Fournier dei Conti Fournier to Dr. Claudeanne Zammit BA LLD married on the 8.12.2006 at San Girgor church sliema and a reception held later at  Palazzo Parisio Naxxar

Announcement of findings

 Count sant title.

* 13-12- 2006: (Findings) (De Jure Count Sant) - Titled: Stephen Sant Fournier, Count Sant Fournier, as the primogeniture went to Lazzaro Sant and his descendants and several documents state that the Count title belongs to the Sant Fourniers. This providing a possibility that all male to male descendants of the 1st Count Sant are entitled under the Germanic system as Counts (Graf) within the order of primogeniture. All male to male descendants can style Counts (Graf) and daughters can style Countess (Contessa, Grdfin), but not their descendants. Though in the direct line, inheritance may be accepted via female line as the Count Sant of the Holy Roman Empire and in Malta. Another example is the Head of the Sant Manduca line, John Mary dei Conti Sant Manduca was accepted by HRH, Duca di Calabria as Count, thus pushing further the acceptance to all male descendants. All Spouses can style Countess (Contessa, Grdfin).

As Eldest and most direct line, John Sant Cassia is the 8th Count Sant, and the eldest and most direct line of the primogeniture Sant is Stephen Sant Fournier, Count Sant Fournier.

Both in Malta and under the Germanic Empire (Austria Lombardy was part of) would naturally accept one holder as the head of the lineal descent, and further acceptance by descent for all existing male descendants in the legitimate line as Counts, Grdf..

Announcement of Title

Would-be baron claims violation of human right

10th November 2006.

A claimant to a barony yesterday filed a constitutional case claiming that he was denied the right to a court hearing in violation of his fundamental human rights.

Philip Bugeja Viani filed his application against the Attorney General. He said that his late mother held the title of Baroness of Tabrija and that, after her demise in 2000, he had requested the Committee of Privileges of the Maltese Nobility to recognise him as Baron of Tabrija.

But the committee had informed Mr Bugeja Viani, in July last year that his request was to be denied and that Corinne Ramsay Scicluna was to be recognised as Baroness of Tabrija. Mr Bugeja Viani said that the Gieh Ir-Repubblika Act specifically provided that no public authority could recognise, in any manner, a title of nobility.

As a result, he was being deprived of his right to have recourse to the courts to contest the committee's decision.

The Gieh Ir-Repubblika Act specifically precluded the courts from deciding upon cases of recognition of titles of nobility.

This, said Mr Bugeja Viani, was in violation of his fundamental human right to have recourse to the courts.

It was also in violation of his right to an effective remedy.

Lawyer Tonio Azzopardi acted for Mr Bugeja Viani.
