in 1760. Joined the Gremio in 1767. In partnership with his uncle
Michel Angel Muscat. In 1772 listed as Sole trader.
* Claudio Amayra 1754-76., The surname also appears as Amayda. Born
in Senglea, Son of Captain Onorato Amayra and brother of Joseph
Amayra. Arrived in Valencia in 1754, joined the Gremio in 1769,
maried to a Maltese women, Fortunata Amaira. Buried in the convent
of Saint Augustine.

father Joseph and Uncle Antonio. In 1772 listed as sole trader. In
1793 listed as a member of the Gremio. Procurator of Juan Bessina of
Marseilles, France.
* Miguel Jose Atard 1778-1805., In 1793 listed as a member of the
Gremio.
* Joseph Attard, 1764-1805., Born in Zeitun, arried in Valencia in
1764. Partnership with his father Angelo. In 1772 listed as a sole
trader. In 1798 helped his cousin Miguel Angel Attard to establish
himself in business.

Gremio.
* Felix Bas 1764-72., Born in Senglea. Had a shop in 1764. Joined
the Gremio in 1767.
* Joseph Bas 1767-1772., Born 1737, son of Captain Claudio Bas, a
veteran of the Brigantine era. Renounced his nationality in 1769.
Partnership with Claudio Amayra. In 1772, listed as an apprentice in
the Gremio.
* Juaquin Benio 1767-1805., the surname also appears as Benso. Born
in Senglea, son of Bernardo Benso and Maria Hicardo. Arrived in
Valencia in 1767. Apprenticed to Pedro Pablo Corme. In 1787 a
partner of Miguel Benso, Julian Camilleri and Joseph Parner. In 1793
listed as maestro in the Gremio.
* Angelo Borg 1750-93., Born in Zeitun in 1734. First came to Spain
in 1750 in the company of his father and his uncle Angelo Borg.
Married in 1764 to a Valencian Maria Arago. He was the first Maltese
to join the Gremio in 1767. His daughter in 1785 married to Pedro
Espanol of Maltese origin.
* Juan Brignone 1767-76., brother of Joseph Brinoni whom he took as
an apprentice in 1768 together with Pedro Pablo and Antonio Caruana.
In 1769 listed as a Mercader de Vera.
* Jose Brinoni 1768-88., The surname also appears as Brignone. His
material grandfather Pablo Escarfoni, a well knows Captain of
brigantine expeditions to Spain. His father Pedro, also a merchant.
Admitted to the Gremio in 1768.

* Antonio Camilleri 1771-1803., in 1772 when he was twelve years old
he was in Valencia in the company of his father. In 1791 listed as
Mercader de Vara.
* Pedro Pablo Caruana 1751-1805., Born in Senglea , son of Felix and
Madelena Brinoni. Arrived in Valencia in 1751 and listed as Maestro
in the Gremio in 1793.
* Victoriano Caruana 1756-1805., born at Zabbar, married but his
wife and children stay in Malta. Arrived in Valencia in 1756. Listed
as Mercader de Vara in 1793.
* Antonio Caruana y Brinioni 1768-1819., born in Senglea in 1753,
son of Felix Caruana and Madalena Brinoni. Apprenticed in the shop
of his uncle Juan Brinoni in 1768 together with his brother Pedro
Pablo. In 1803 appointed Inspector de las Fabricas de Texidos de
Medias de Seda and given the right to place the royal coat of arms
over the entrance to his house and factory. Married to Maria Angela
Martin de Alcantara. Father of Peregrin Caruana, one of the most
important figures in the bourgeoisie of the ninetieth century in
Valencia. In 1818 Don Antonio registered as a Maltese nobleman
living in Valencia. He died in 1819.
