“Ferrante la Paglia fu’ Giurato di Malta nel 1527. Il medesimo vie deputato A,mbasciatore dall’ Universita’ di quest’ Isola nel 1528 al Vicere’ di Sicilia, per chieder alcun presidio in difesa della Citta, attesi gl’avvisi d’armata. Hebbe da D. Beatrice sua moglie tre figluoli, due femmine e un maschio nominato Girolamo, per parte de’ quali la madre allora vedova, leggiamo haver fatta procura l’anno 1533, a prender il possesso dell’ eredita’ d’un parente del marito, morto in Giorgenti senza figli, e testamento.” (From Abela’s “Della Descrittione di Malta del Commendatore Abela” (1647))

1. Ferdinand la Paglia, Knight of the Military Order of St James of the Sword (Leon), married to Caterina Catania, daughter of Pietro, Royal Treasurer of Malta, with issue.

1.1. Ferrante la Paglia, Giurato (1527), Ambasciatore (1528) married Beatrice la Rocca, with issue.

1.1.1. Girolamo la Paglia, (in 1533 he took possession of an estate in Giorgenti (Agrigento, Sicily) on behalf of his mother who succeeded a relative)

1.1.2 Daughter #1

1.1.3. Daughter #2.

1.2. Prudenza la Paglia, married 1475 to Ferdinand di Modica.
