Principi Sayd Chapel, Santi 1530-1907

The chapel was privately built by Principi Niccolo Sayd in 1530 after the death of his first wife in 1530 where a chapel was built over where Angela lied. This chapel was on the grounds of Niccolo's property which was continuously used for the main branch of the family to be buried till the turn of the 20th century when it was closed and on its last legs as it was in disrepair in 1907 when the Principe Giovanni Maria Said was buried in the old crypt which lied in the centre of the chapel.
The Chapel had a large enough crypt to buried up to four people and then after a handful of years their bones were put aside making way for future burials. Though the coffins were left until a new burial was about to be bury and in the early years, it was used very regularly and at times very full. Sadly there is no list of those buried apart from those closely and directly descendant of the Principi de Sayd.
Today, you will find rubble and no monuments to mark an ancient burial ground for an noble family.
